Herons compete in Martin Memorial

CORTLAND, N.Y.--The William Smith golf team finished sixth out of seven teams in the Martin Memorial this afternoon. First-year Nicole Calandra (Camden/Blossvale, N.Y.) was the top Heron in the 30-golfer field, placing 10th with a two-day score of 177.
On Sunday, Calandra carded an opening round 86 at the par 70 Elm Tree Golf Course. She followed that with a 91 at the par 72 Cortland Country Club. Classmate Lauren Zeitler (Sayville/Sayville, N.Y.) was next in the clubhouse, tied for 14th with a 190 (98-92).
William Smith is back in action on Sept. 22, when the Herons host Nazareth in a nine-hole dual match scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
